The arrest of Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Pablo Guanipa has drawn widespread attention.
The Vice President of the Sector for Politics, Citizen Security, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondon, announced Guanipa’s capture during a briefing at the Ministry of Popular Power for Internal Relations, Justice, and Peace.

According to Cabello Rondon, Guanipa was detained following a thorough intelligence operation conducted by the Venezuelan authorities.

During the raid, authorities confiscated four mobile phones, a laptop, notebooks, and agendas from Guanipa, reportedly containing information linking him to the financing and coordination of terrorist activities.
Authorities also reported seizing grenades in Zulia state, intended for attacks on police stations, hospitals, public service centers, and critical infrastructure like electrical and oil facilities.
